Kom Ombo Egypt Jan 92

J’adore cette photo… Une escale à Kom Ombo durant le voyage en felouque…En arrière plan se trouve le temple double dédié au dieu Sobek et Haroeris érigé au début du 11ème siècle avant J.-C… Les vaches me semblent différentes ou ça se passe juste dans ma tête?!

I really like this pic….We stopped along the way at Kom Ombo while being on the felucca ride…On the background there is the double Temple dedicated to Sobek and Haroeris Gods which was erected at the beginning of the 11th century before B.C…The cows look so different or it is just me?!

TOILET FACILITIES IN EGYPT, JAN 92

Well, forget the large bowl attached to a pipe to get rid of waste matter from your aseptic body…One good thing about this toilet ”hole”, which seems as old as the Pyramids, is no need to flush pratical you might think but even the most ”humble” people from developed countries could never get used to the hose replacing the toilet paper…and the soap!…

Quand le besoin de se soulager se fait sentir tu y vas même si ces cabinets d’aisances (aisances?) semblent dater de la même époque que les pyramides..Pas besoin de tirer la chasse d’eau, pratique me diriez-vous…Aseptisée comme je suis, jamais mais au grand jamais que j’ai eu un brin d’humilité pour me servir de l’arrosoir qui ”humblement” remplace le papier de toilette et.. le savon! Après une soirée bien arrosée et succulente à la fondue chinoise et au choooooooooooooocolat, je suis repartie du Phare avec un scanographe et une tête fraîchement teinte..Aussitôt arrivée chez-moi je branche le tout et me retrempe dans mes souvenirs de voyages lointains…Pour rester sur le même thème du bonhomme de neige qui n’en peu plus de son enfer hivernal…En mars 1992, il a neigé, aussi, sur Jérusalem et j’y étais…Les tempêtes de neige sont relativement assez rare dans ce coin de pays…Quel souvenir!!

I came back home today with a scanner given to me by my cousin, Innée….Arriving home, I went back looking at my old travel pictures and a few images came back to my mind…Jeruzalem had a big snow fall in March, 1992 and I was there…Snow fall is relatively rare in that part of the word..I feel a bit like the snowman, nostalgic….but I mean not THAT NOSTALGIC!!…

*L’imperméable sur la dernière photo a été acheté pour cette occasion et il fait, encore, parti aujourd’hui de ma garde-robe…

*The raincoat on the last pic was bought for the occasion and I still wear it today…
